Myst III: Exile Hints
How do I get the linking book that's locked up in the center tower?
of 11: Take a look around the room, and you should see some controls you can operate.
of 11: There's a blue button on the railing in the center of the room. Press it, and a message from Atrus will play -- with some interruptions from your attacker.
of 11: This age is basically a jumping-off point to several other ages, which Atrus designed to teach his sons. They were only allowed to head onto the next age after completing their lessons in each of those first three ages.
of 11: The linking books to those other ages are inside the three white tusks located on this island. You'll have to solve different puzzles to get into each of the tusks.
of 11: After you've completed the three other ages, you should have something from each one.
of 11: Specifically, you wrote down a symbol at the end of each of the ages.
of 11: Those symbols will help you get to the linking book in the center of room.
of 11: Do you remember what Saavedro did just before he left?
of 11: He used the blue pad near the center of the room.
of 11: Maybe you should do the same.
of 11: Put each of the three sheets of paper on the pad by clicking and dragging them there -- once you've had them all "scanned," the Narayan linking book will be available to you. (You'll need to be in "cursor mode" and not "free-look mode" to access the inventory at the bottom of your screen. Press the right mouse button or CAPS LOCK to switch between these two modes.)
