Myst V: End of Ages Hints

What is there to do when I first get here?

  • 1 of 8: There are a few different places that you may want to look when you first arrive.
  • 2 of 8: If you walk down the shore from the right, you'll see a narrow passageway back through the cliff, which soon appears to be blocked off by some kind of door.
  • 3 of 8: You'll also notice a small hanging cord with a handle along the cliff face a little farther along the beach.
  • 4 of 8: If, instead, you turn along the beach to the left from the initial pedestal, you'll run into Esher for the first time here.
  • 5 of 8: Go around the corner, and you'll see a display with four small bowls around a larger egg-shaped object.
  • 6 of 8: Keep going past the display a little farther, and then look into the cliff face for another doorway.  This one is not blocked off -- keep going forward, through an underground room, and down another passageway, until you reach a second section of beach.
  • 7 of 8: You'll see an island in the distance here.
  • 8 of 8: You can wade across the water to the island from the middle of the beach -- as long as you're taking a direct path across the water.  (This may be more obvious if you're using the "classic" point-and-click mode of movement, but it's still possible to walk across the water along the same path in the "advanced" free-move mode.)
