How do I open the box inside the safe?
1 of 6: Did you groan and muffle a bad word when you saw that it was a stinking slider puzzle? I sure did. I hate those things.
2 of 6: Well, let's just get at it. Read to the end of this hint for a step-by-step solution.
3 of 6: As usual, the junior version is a lot easier than the senior version; juniors get a puzzle with 9 squares, and seniors get a puzzle with 16 squares. The picture is the same for both; it looks just like the picture on the lid of the box:
4 of 6: In both cases, the empty square will be at the bottom right. This is important to know because these hideous things are always easier to solve if you solve the row farthest away from the empty square first and work your way down.
5 of 6: Also, after you get the top row done, you'll almost always have to disarrange it temporarily to make room to move the lower pieces around. You might need to slide the whole front row to the left and down, for instance, to make room to flip some of the tiles that will eventually end up on the bottom row.
