Nancy Drew: Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake Hints
How does the note provide the combination to the safe?
of 11: The note seems to be filled with a scribbled phrase, followed by some numbers, then both are crossed out and another phrase and numbers are scribbled in below it. This seems to be repeated a few times. What could the numbers be?
of 11: The numbers must be old combinations. Whoever used this safe probably taped this note here listing the current six-digit combination and some phrase that was somehow associated with it -- and then they would change the combination. At that time they would apparently cross out the old combination and phrase, and write in the new phrase that was associated with the new combination. What could the phrases be?
of 11: The phrases appear to be events...unlucky events, from the looks of them.
of 11: And the combinations appear to be dates. Perhaps dates of the unlucky events.
of 11: In fact, it looks like whoever used this safe always wanted the combination to be the date of some meaningful, unlucky event. The last event, "MM Pinched", is not crossed out. What could that mean?
of 11: That means the combination must be the date Mickey Malone was "pinched", or arrested. Do you know what date that is?
of 11: The date of Malone's arrest is written on something that you have most likely already seen.
of 11: You saw that date when you were reading the sorted envelopes at the ranger station.
