Neverwinter Nights: Kingmaker Hints

Nobody Tosses a Dwarf

  • 1 of 13: This quest has you going to the Duergar Caves in the Emerald Hills region. Either have Alias take you there, or go there on foot and find the cave entrance near the SE corner of the region.
  • 2 of 13: NOTE: See the Alias Notes if you have trouble with your character suddenly running off to the northwest for no apparent reason while in this area.
  • 3 of 13: When you approach the gates leading to the cave entrance, you'll find Dolin Archenland standing near them (or possibly fighting several duergar if you haven't been here before and cleared the area out).
  • 4 of 13: Talk to Dolin about stuff, then go through the gates and enter the starting portion of the caves.
  • 5 of 13: It's not at all necessary to do so, but you may want to clear out all the enemies in this cave area and raid all the treasure.
  • 6 of 13: Once that's done, you need to figure out how to open the door that leads to the Dwarven Hall area.
  • 7 of 13: In the Dwarven Hall, take all the keys from the key box and then click on the special door that's in one corner.
  • 8 of 13: The door will let you choose a riddle to answer, and thereby choose which part of the hall you get teleported to.
  • 9 of 13: You answer a riddle by choosing the key whose type best answers the riddle. If you answer a riddle incorrectly, the door damages you a little and doesn't take you anywhere.
  • 10 of 13: Below are all of the riddle answers and what's in the areas they get you to. You can do them in any order, and you can skip whichever ones you don't want to do.
  • 11 of 13: Riddle #6 gets you to the duergar mage that The Stan needs you to kill off, so you could just do that one and then use Riddle #7 to get back to where you can exit the area.
  • 12 of 13: Run all the way back to North Cyan and report success to The Stan to get your reward.
  • 13 of 13: NOTE: If you want to keep the duergar hammer that you got from the mage, just tell The Stan that you have the mage's head. However, that hammer is not very powerful and can't be sold, so you'll probably want to turn it over to get a Rune Hammer +2, which is a *much* better weapon and can be sold for way over 30,000 gold.
