How can I become the new Lord of Cyan Keep?
1 of 12: During the course of the conversations you have when you first enter the keep, you'll learn that the keep's former Lord died years ago, and its Banner (the one who rules in the absence of a Lord) was killed in the recent battle.
2 of 12: A new Lord has to be elected soon, and you are chosen as one of the candidates.
3 of 12: The keep's Hand, Enivid Divine, and some evil scheming noble named Sir Becket are the other two candidates for Lord.
4 of 12: In order to beat them in the election, you'll have to get at least four votes (preferably five) from the nine local guilds.
5 of 12: That means hunting up the guildmasters and doing quests for them to gain their votes. See the guild-related hint sections for all the details on each quest.
6 of 12: It can be tricky doing enough guild quests and getting enough votes before the election starts. See the Alias Notes for info on how to be sure to get enough votes.
7 of 12: You can find Momma Dane near the SW corner of South Cyan and talk to her about gossip anytime to learn how you're doing in the election.
8 of 12: When you win the election, you'll be given the Lord's Helm and will be asked who you want your Banner and Hand to be.
9 of 12: It's probably best to promote Enivid Divine to Banner and choose Calibast or some other henchman to be the new Hand.
10 of 12: Right after that's settled, Alias will run in with some very odd news about Momma Dane. (BUG NOTE: If you got the election going by talking to Mykes Lamplighter in the Guildhall instead of Alias, you may have to tell her you're ready for the election and then talk to her again to get the news.)
11 of 12: So now you're the new Lord of Cyan keep, and are ready to go after that masked maniac. See the Defeating the Masked Man hint section for all the endgame details.
12 of 12: BUG NOTE: If you got the election going by talking to Lamplighter, you'd better talk to Enivid Divine and get going on the endgame stuff immediately after Alias delivers her message. If you instead exit the Guildhall or save your game, a serious glitch may happen when you reenter the Guildhall or restore your save.
