Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide Hints
What can I do with the stoned sphinx in the basilisk room?
of 11: After killing off all of the basilisks, think about the fact that they can turn living creatures into stone.
of 11: Maybe that's what happened to the sphinx!
of 11: Do you have anything that could turn it back into flesh?
of 11: If you don't have a spell that can do it, you'll need the Ointment of Stone to Flesh from the skeleton in the Shield Guardian's room.
of 11: Stand a little way back from the sphinx and use the ointment on it (by right-clicking on the ointment in your inventory and clicking on the icon to use it and then on the sphinx).
of 11: Talk to the newly-revived sphinx and tell it that you enjoy riddles.
of 11: You'll get some XP if you can answer all three of its riddles correctly.
of 11: After you do the riddles, talk to the sphinx about your reward to learn a bit about the item-creating machine in the next room.
of 11: You can also find out about the spell orb in the NE room and the crystal ball in the portal room.
of 11: When you're through talking to the sphinx, he'll leave.
of 11: NOTE: If you're a druid or ranger with a ludicrously high Animal Empathy skill, try using it on the sphinx before he gets away. You'll have to muster a DC of 37 or higher, but it would be totally awesome to have an actual sphinx as a pet monster-killer!
