How do I get the Word of Power from the Moonwood?

  • 1 of 13: The Word is being held by a dragon who's taken up residence in the Fire Giant Lair, so find out where that is.
  • 2 of 13: On the lair's first level, there are two exits to other fire giant areas.
  • 3 of 13: The one in the NW corner just leads to an optional area that has nothing to do with your quest for the Word of Power.
  • 4 of 13: The door near the center of the area leads to where you need to go.
  • 5 of 13: After going through that door, head south to find King Skrogg's area.
  • 6 of 13: Head on to find the path that winds around to three different entrances to other areas.
  • 7 of 13: The one near the north end of the map leads to an optional slaad area. For fun and treasure only.
  • 8 of 13: The middle one leads to a small dungeon where a blue dragon is being prepped for absorption by some yuan-ti. (More on that in the hints about killing Klauth.)
  • 9 of 13: And the southern-most one leads to Klauth himself.
  • 10 of 13: He's the guy with the Word of Power, so you'll have to get it from him somehow.
  • 11 of 13: Your choices are to fight him or negotiate with him.
  • 12 of 13: Once you either kill Klauth or give him some dragon eggs, go open the door in the SE corner of his room using his key.
  • 13 of 13: The Word of Power is in a chest in the room behind the door. Get it, talk to Haedraline, then get out.
