Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer Hints
How can I get Ammon Jerro to be a companion again?
of 16: Click on his body and try to determine the problem.
of 16: Safiya will tell you that his soul has been extracted forcibly, and his body will soon die if it doesn't get its soul back.
of 16: Ask around to see if anyone knows where Ammon Jerro's soul is.
of 16: Try the two pit fiend merchants.
of 16: They have Jerro's soul, but won't part with it easily.
of 16: They demand 50,000 gold and three student souls, but you can use the Appraise option to talk them down to 20,000 gold and two student souls. (If Gann is with you and you have a high influence with him, you'll succeed in the bargaining even if you fail the Appraise skill check.)
of 16: The gold shouldn't be hard to come by. Sell the pit fiends a 25,000-gold item or two if you have any you can part with.
of 16: As for the souls, there are two spare souls in containers in the instructors' quarters area.
of 16: See the optional hints up above this question to find out where to get the green and pink soul housings.
of 16: If for some reason you need three souls, the third one can be taken from the soul depository in the classrooms area.
of 16: Since you won't be getting it back, and you can only have one soul checked out at a time, you'll want to wait to get it until after you finish the "Four Failed Souls" main quest, since you'll need several souls from the depository for it.
of 16: Once you have all you need in inventory, talk to the pit fiends and get the trade done.
of 16: Then go click on Jerro's body and use his soul to revive him.
of 16: You can talk to him at length about the fates of your old companions from the NWN2 main campaign, then ask him to join you.
of 16: He'll be another "uncontrollable" companion, meaning you can't move him manually or raid his inventory. At least he won't require you to ditch one of your current companions.
