Exactly how can I get spirit essences?
1 of 4: The main way is to use your Devour Spirit feat on spirits (and elementals) that are at "near death" status.
2 of 4: You can do this several times to get several essences, and then use the travel-and-suppress method described in the "A Dark Hunger" quest hints to get your craving back down. (Unless you don't want the lawful/good alignment shift, in which case you'll have to avoid using Suppress, and travel as little as possible due to your constantly high craving.)
3 of 4: An alternative way to get spirit essences without increasing craving is to get the Eternal Rest feat (see the "The Haunted Furnace" quest hints) and use it on undead enemies after bashing them down to "near death" status.
4 of 4: The Eternal Rest feat can be used in the Death God's Vault lower level to help you get a huge number of brilliant spirit essences, plus lots of XP and other essences. See the "The Death God's Vault" quest hints for all the details on that.
