Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer Hints

City Loot Notes

  • 1 of 15: There's a barrel with some "mass" spell scrolls in it next to a Rashemi home's locked door just a bit SE of the bazaar area.
  • 2 of 15: Down an alley just west of that barrel is another one that contains a random amount of gold.
  • 3 of 15: Another random-gold barrel is just past an openable wooden gate in the building that's east of the Veil Theater.
  • 4 of 15: If you go around behind the Veil Theater using the alley on its west side, you'll find a dirt mound and another barrel-behind-the-gate setup. Both have a random amount of gold.
  • 5 of 15: You can get some thieves' tools from the barrel that's just past the large open gates that lead to the docks area.
  • 6 of 15: There's a suit of +4 padded armor and some gold in the barrel that's near the end of the second docking pier from the south.
  • 7 of 15: In the docks' inn building (called "The Sloop"), you can talk to the pirate named Fyldrin of the Eleven Chairs to start a fight. (Tell him that he won't lay a hand on Safiya.)
  • 8 of 15: The fight shouldn't be hard if you're well-rested, and you can loot the pirates' remains afterward to get a good bit of gold and some +5 heavy armor called Deep Guardian's Plate that makes you immune to paralysis and gives a spell resistance of 18.
  • 9 of 15: Go through the doorway near where you found the pirates to get to a hallway with several locked doors.
  • 10 of 15: It can be fun to bash the doors, but you'll get some XP if you have Kaji unlock them for you. Besides, you can always bash them after he unlocks them.
  • 11 of 15: Search all the rooms for lootable treasure containers. Each room has at least one.
  • 12 of 15: The large SE room has two, but it also has a fatal electrical trap just inside the door. Kaji probably can't disarm it, even if you use the spell tips given below, so have your toughest character run through it and trip it while everyone else stays safely out of the way.
  • 13 of 15: The locked chest in the room has a Crossbow of Murder and some powerful bolts in it, and the trapped armoire has the Axe of the Culling in it -- both are big favorites from the original NWN game.
  • 14 of 15: If you fought the pirates and/or bashed any of the flimsy interactive furniture in the inn for fun, a "woman" named Zorah will demand payment when you try to leave.
  • 15 of 15: After all that looting, you'll need to go through your inventory to see what all you want to use and keep, then go sell the rest to the local merchants.
