Neverwinter Nights 2 Hints
The Trial
of 15: Lord Nasher gives you permission to travel to Ember and Port Llast in search of some evidence of your innocence, so you can now leave the city via any world map transition point.
of 15: Sand suggested you start by talking to someone named Haeromo in Port Llast, so that should be your first stop. (Llast first, get it?)
of 15: After exiting Castle Never through the fancy grate door at its north end, talk to the old sergeant and then check out the newly reopened Blacklake District if you haven't already. (A nearby merchant sells lots of great magic stuff. See the Merchant Notes.)
of 15: Go by the Sunken Flagon in the Docks District to pick up another henchman or two, then travel to Port Llast and start looking around.
of 15: When you're ready to start the trial, travel to Blacklake and talk to Sir Nevalle in Castle Never's throne room.
of 15: The first phase is a lengthy conversational one, and aside from the chance to gain or lose influence with Sand, it isn't really necessary to choose particular dialogue options over others.
of 15: If your conversation skills (Diplomacy, Bluff, and Intimidate) are *really* high and you choose the right options, you can get Lord Nasher to proclaim you innocent. This will get you 250 bonus XP now, plus a nice Amulet of Truth later.
of 15: No matter which way Lord Nasher decides, someone will invoke the rite of trial by combat.
of 15: After saving your game, speak to Hlam in the Merchant Quarter's Church of Tyr to start the Rite of Tyr.
of 15: During the rite, several companions will show up and offer their aid. Some will even offer to fight in your place. Which ones do this will depend to a certain extent on how much influence you have with them.
of 15: After a few more cut-scenes, you'll finally regain control in the battle arena after one brief chance to demoralize Lorne with a conversation option.
