The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Atronach Birthsign Tips
1 of 6: Practice up your Alchemy skill as soon as possible (see the Magic Skills Practice Tips) and create lots of powerful Restore Magicka potions. Those will come in handy whenever your magicka runs low.
2 of 6: After your Alchemy skill reaches 100 and you can make potions from a single ingredient, the best way to get Restore Magicka ingredients is to harvest flax seeds from the colorful flax flowers that grow all around Skingrad. (There are also several next to the big statue inside the town, near the northern wall.)
3 of 6: When you need to heal up after a tough battle, you can use the Rest menu to wait an hour (or fast-travel somewhere far away) instead of spending magicka to cast healing spells. Or if you've used your practiced-up Alchemy skill to create Restore Health potions, you can use them.
4 of 6: You can use either the Enchanting Tips or sigil stones from Oblivion Worlds to enchant weapons with an Absorb Magicka effect. Hitting an enemy with one of those will siphon his magicka into yours. (If he has any magicka, and doesn't resist, reflect, or absorb your weapon's Absorb Magicka effect.)
5 of 6: You can use items, such as chapel altars, that cast spells on you to restore your magicka. Quicksave before using the altar (since it can only be used once a day), then use it and see if you absorb its spell. If not, quickrestore and try again until you do.
6 of 6: If you're in Bravil, the Lucky Old Lady statue can be used over and over to restore magicka. It's not a once-a-day thing, so you don't need to do any quicksaving or quickrestoring with it. This makes Bravil the best place to practice your magic skills, since you can keep practicing without having to use up your supply of Restore Magicka potions.
