The Path of Dawn

  • 1 of 17: Talk to Jauffre and agree to join the Blades. That'll get you an Akaviri katana and the right to take weapons and armor from the fortress armory in the East Wing area (and stuff from other fortress areas and Weynon Priory, too).
  • 2 of 17: When you ask Jauffre about the amulet, he'll say to go see Baurus in the Imperial City.
  • 3 of 17: After you're done looking through the fortress and getting stuff, travel to the Elven Gardens District in the Imperial City via whatever method you prefer.
  • 4 of 17: You're looking for Luther Broad's Boarding House, which is at the SW corner of the NE set of buildings.
  • 5 of 17: Inside, find Baurus on a stool by the bar (he may be hard to see due to dimness) and talk to him.
  • 6 of 17: He'll tell you to sit down, so click on a stool next to him to sit on it.
  • 7 of 17: Baurus will tell you to follow the guy who follows him when he goes down to the basement, so do that.
  • 8 of 17: When the guy turns hostile and attacks Baurus in the basement, you can join in or just stand back and watch, since Baurus can take him down by himself.
  • 9 of 17: Baurus says to search the dead attacker's body. Do so in order to find a special book called "Mythic Dawn Commentaries 1."
  • 10 of 17: TIP: Read the book in inventory to get a Conjuration skill increase. When you get the other books in the series, read them for other magic skill increases.
  • 11 of 17: When you talk to Baurus again, he'll refer you to Tar-Meena at the Arcane University since she may know something about the book.
  • 12 of 17: You'll find Tar-Meena in the Arch-Mage's Lobby area unless you've gained full access to the university, in which case she'll be in the Mystic Archives.
  • 13 of 17: She'll tell you that you need all four volumes in the Mythic Dawn Commentaries series, and will give you the second one.
  • 14 of 17: If Baurus survived the fight (which isn't essential to the quest line), he'll suggest you take the four books to Tar-Meena in the Arcane University to see if she can use them to figure out the secret location of the Mehrunes Dagon shrine.
  • 15 of 17: TIP: To get out of the sewers, go through one of the gates that the Mythic Dawn guys opened to reach a room to raid of many valuables, then move on to the Talos District sewers and find an exit to the Talos Plaza District.
  • 16 of 17: The first time you talk to Tar-Meena about "Mythic Dawn," she'll say to check back in with her tomorrow.
  • 17 of 17: You can keep waiting and checking back with her until she gives you the answer, or you can figure it out on your own.
