Portal 2 Hints
How can I get to the elevator?
1 of 11: Notice that there's a central structure with a couple of walkway levels between the starting area and the elevator platform.
2 of 11: Your first objective is to get onto its lower walkway. How might you use the two types of gel to do that?
3 of 11: Notice the portal-friendly wall section that's on the central structure a bit above the lower walkway.
4 of 11: Try putting a blue portal on it, then putting an orange portal on the flooring that's underneath either of the two gel tubes.
5 of 11: Press that tube's button to get the floor sprayed with that type of gel.
6 of 11: That gets you some good gel coverage, creating a sort of gel runway, so try running and/or jumping over to the central structure (after quicksaving).
7 of 11: You'll find that neither of the gel types can get you over to the central structure by itself.
8 of 11: Go to the other side of the central structure's lower walkway to find that there's a portal-friendly wall section over there that faces the elevator platform.
9 of 11: However, there's a railing that would block any attempted portal-fling from that wall section.
10 of 11: Look up to see that there's another portal-friendly wall section next to the upper walkway.
11 of 11: A portal fling from it would probably get you over to the elevator platform.
