Weapon Tips
of 6: This game is even worse than F.E.A.R. in that it limits you to having only two weapons at once, not counting the TMD or any "special" weapon you've picked up. Fortunately, there are weapon lockers in various parts of the game that you can use to choose which two weapons you want to have equipped. You'll be able to choose any two weapons you've already found at some point previously in the game (except the special weapons).
of 6: Another thing you can do at weapon lockers is upgrade any non-special weapon you've found. In order to do that, you'll have to have picked up weapon tech items, which look like large blue-ish briefcases. Be sure to keep an eye out for them as you explore areas for supplies.
of 6: Once you decide which two weapons are your favorites, upgrade them and keep them with you all of the time except when other weapons are called for. The most common occurrence is a situation where a sniper rifle is needed for a long-distance combat or two, after which you can switch back to whatever you swapped out for it. Also, you may sometimes switch to another weapon so you can expend its ammo on nearby enemies and save ammo for your equipped weapons.
of 6: Note that if you weapon-switch for either of the above reasons, you'd better go back and get the weapon you swapped out before too long, or it may disappear. Or you may go past a point of no return (this game is *full* of those) and not be able to get back to the dropped weapon. If this happens, you'll have to wait until you find the next weapon locker to get your dropped weapon back.
of 6: Fortunately, dropping a weapon and leaving it behind doesn't lose you any ammo for that weapon. The game keeps track of how much ammo you have for it so that if you ever get it back, you won't have to start over on gathering ammo for it.
of 6: Weapon lockers will let you buy ammo for a weapon that you don't have full ammo for, but doing so costs you a small amount of E99 tech, which is better spent on upgrading yourself and the TMD at augmentor stations. (See the TMD Tips.)
