Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Hints

How can I build a new lightsaber?

  • 1 of 7: By the time Bao-Dur talks to you about it after you blast off from Atris' secret base, you've already collected one of the items you need.
  • 2 of 7: You got a lightsaber emitter fixture when you reported back after finishing the second mission for either the Ithorians or the Czerka.
  • 3 of 7: The second piece can be gotten fairly soon from Visas Marr, a future companion who actually tries to kill you when you first meet.
  • 4 of 7: If you go to Dantooine first (which I strongly advise), you can get the rest of your lightsaber components (plus your special personalized crystal) fairly quickly and easily there. See the Dantooine hints for more details.
  • 5 of 7: Once you have all the parts you need, talk to Bao-Dur and get the saber made, then go to the nearest workbench to upgrade it. It's a terrific melee weapon!
  • 6 of 7: TIP: Double-bladed lightsabers are way cool, but it's actually better to use two single-bladed lightsabers and take all the two-weapon fighting feats. Why? Because double-bladed sabers have no more slots for upgrades than single-bladed ones do. That means you get the benefits of *two* sets of upgrade items if you're dual-wielding, but not if you're using a double-bladed saber.
  • 7 of 7: TIP / GLITCH: Once you have a lightsaber, there are two neat glitches in the game that you can take advantage of. (Of course, these glitches may be fixed in a future version of the game, so I can't guarantee that they'll work for you.)
