Voyage Hints
Ardan says the pressure is too low.
of 13: If the air supply is open to the organ, and you try to press one of the organ buttons, Ardan will say "I've got to figure out a way to open the water supply."
of 13: While the solution to providing air to the organ is entirely contained in the underground caverns, solving the puzzle of opening the water supply requires additional activities at other points in the game. As a result, it may not be solvable earlier in the game. The following hints, however, walk through what is necessary, to accomplish this task -- even though some of the things may not be "do-able" until later. Be careful of possible "spoilers" if you are reading ahead too far (for where you are in the game).
of 13: The first step to opening the water supply is the same as for opening the air supply.
of 13: There is a water valve next to the air valve, on the wall of the cavern. It can be reached by following the large pipes from the organ, into the adjacent room.
of 13: The valve must be opened (set to the vertical position). However, that is not enough.
of 13: Continue following the water pipe, beyond this valve.
of 13: From the valve, the pipe splits into two pipes, each of which goes around the room, then up the stairs, and out onto the plateau.
of 13: (The stairs will not be navigable until the air supply is opened.)
of 13: Following the pipes above ground, onto the plateau, you can see that one goes to one side of the plateau (by one of the telescopes and small nearby pond), and the other goes to the other side (by the other telescope and small pond).
of 13: In addition, next to each of the small ponds, the pipes go through some kind of mechanism with a panel containing a 4x4 grid of buttons, each with an ideogram on them.
of 13: Experiment with the buttons to see what happens.
of 13: As each panel "resets" after pressing any four buttons, it seems that each panel is expecting a four-button code to be entered. When an incorrect code is entered, nothing happens, and you can continue to press more buttons.
of 13: When each water control panel is solved, and its valve is set correctly, and the main water valve (in the underground cavern, near the air supply valve) is turned "on" (i.e., set to the vertical position), water will flow freely to the organ.
