Voyage Hints

So what are the chords produced by the right-hand panel?

  • 1 of 6: The following information does not attempt to describe "inversions" of the basic chords.  It only identifies the chord itself, and the rest is left to the (somewhat precocious) player.
  • 2 of 6: Since a couple of the buttons don't produce clear "chords" -- but only a discordant combination of tones -- they will be described as best as possible, to illustrate that.  (In some cases, a chord may be defined only by showing the notes included.)
  • 3 of 6: Top row:        B major        B-E-A        E major        (noise, starting at B-flat on the low end, and a high D on the upper end)
  • 4 of 6: Second row:        A major        A augmented        E-flat minor        F-sharp minor
  • 5 of 6: Third row:        F-sharp major        C major        (noise - all notes in the major third from F to A)        A minor
  • 6 of 6: Fourth row:        A-flat major        E minor        E minor with an added 7th        B-flat minor
