Voyage Hints
Solving the problem without unsticking the lever.
of 12: This is the longer of the two methods described here, and is based on the fact that the lever underneath the yellow arrows is stuck, and needs some grease or oil, but you don't wish to "fix" it at this point. In other words, the only direction of flow for the pink liquid is from right to left.
of 12: Begin by filling the cylinder on the right, by clicking on the valve at the top right.
of 12: When the cylinder is full, press the button in the middle to transfer 4 measures to the can on the left. The cylinder now has 5 measures remaining in it.
of 12: Empty the can, by pressing the "0" button at the bottom left of the machine.
of 12: Transfer another 4 measures from the cylinder to the can, by again pressing the button in the middle. The can is full once more, and the cylinder now has only 1 measure in it.
of 12: Empty the can once again, and now transfer the remaining 1 measure from the cylinder to the can (by pressing the button in the middle).
of 12: Once again, fill the cylinder on the right, and transfer 3 measures to the can on the left. (Only 3 measures will transfer, because the can already has 1 measure in it.) The cylinder now has 6 measures remaining in it.
of 12: Empty the can, and transfer another 4 measures from the cylinder to the can. The cylinder has 2 measures remaining.
of 12: Empty the can once more, and transfer the 2 measures from the cylinder to the can. (See where you're going with this?)
of 12: Now, fill the cylinder on the right one last time. Transfer 2 measures to the can on the left. (Only 2 measures transfer, because there are already two measures in the can.) There are 7 measures left in the cylinder.
of 12: Empty the can, and transfer 4 measure from the cylinder to the can. The cylinder has 3 measures remaining, and the can is full. (Want to take it from here?)
of 12: Empty the can, and transfer the remaining 3 measures from the cylinder to the can. Task accomplished!
