The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints

With Flickering Heart

  • 1 of 11: After finishing the "The War Council" quest, talk to the elf named Ele'yas just outside the inn to get this quest.
  • 2 of 11: You can leave Vergen through the Mahakam Gate and check out the burned village for clues, but you won't find anything particularly useful. You might want to skip that and head straight for the catacombs.
  • 3 of 11: You'll be visiting the catacombs for the "Death Symbolized" quest, and may want to combine trips. In either case, see that quest's first objective for directions to the catacombs.
  • 4 of 11: After you enter the catacombs, you'll need to find the body of someone who was recently killed.
  • 5 of 11: Examine the recently deceased man, using all of the options that come up, then return to Vergen.
  • 6 of 11: Find Dandelion in the inn and talk to him about finding some of his scribblings. (If he won't let you talk to him, it's because you need to talk to the dwarves seated at the table first.)
  • 7 of 11: After saving your game, go to the burned village just west of Vergen. If Dandelion doesn't show up and talk to you when you enter the village, go back up the path a bit so you can meditate until hour 22.
  • 8 of 11: After you talk briefly with Dandelion, you'll need to choose the lines that he sings to lure in the succubus. If you choose the wrong ones, the quest will fail and you'll be attacked by wraiths.
  • 9 of 11: After you do it right, the succubus will open up a nearby trap door and invite Dandelion into her lair.
  • 10 of 11: Enter the lair as Geralt, then go down the stairs and through the narrow doorway on the right to enter the succubus' bedchamber.
  • 11 of 11: When you talk to her, you'll have two choices on how to finish this quest. You can either accuse her of lying (which turns her hostile), or you can investigate her claims that Ele'yas is the real murderer.
