Dragon Age II Hints

Demands of the Qun

  • 1 of 10: You start Act II with this quest, but there's nothing you can do on it separate from the above quests until after they're all completed.
  • 2 of 10: Travel to the Hawke Estate and talk with Aveline, then finish up any optional stuff you want to do. When you're ready, go to the qunari compound entrance in the Docks region during the day. If you didn't bring Aveline with you, she'll be waiting by the compound gate.
  • 3 of 10: Try to open the gate, then tell Aveline you're ready. That'll start a conversation with the Arishok about the elven criminals who took refuge with the qun. What you say will mainly affect whether you get friendship or rivalry with Aveline. (You can also get a bit more respect with the Arishok by admitting that Isabela stole his relic.)
  • 4 of 10: After you're forced to re-choose your party (Aveline must be included), go up the long flight of stairs to start on a series of combats that'll take you to the west end of Lowtown.
  • 5 of 10: Use the exit on the west side of the bazaar to get to Hightown, where you'll have a brief cut-scene followed by another sten-led qunari combat. A few reinforcements that include a saarebas will appear from the south.
  • 6 of 10: After a conversation with Knight-Commander Meredith, search the market area to find two crates, a barrel, and a locked chest. When you're done there, fight your way around to the Viscount's Keep entrance.
  • 7 of 10: Following the battle in the square, you'll have a conversation with Meredith and Orsino. It doesn't matter who you choose to side with first, but once you reach the keep, your choice matters.
  • 8 of 10: In the keep, move forward to find that the qunari have you surrounded.
  • 9 of 10: Watch for two more lootable corpses as you go to the doors to the keep's eastern chambers. Opening those doors will start a cut-scene with the Arishok.
  • 10 of 10: TIP: During the cut-scenes that lead into Act III, you'll have the opportunity to support either Meredith or Orsino in dialogue. Which one you support determines which type of armor you'll get as rewards in Act III: warrior armor (Meredith) or mage armor (Orsino). Supporting neither doesn't get you anything, so that's a bad choice.
