Fallout: New Vegas Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints
Deal with Ulysses.
of 9: Ulysses is waiting with his back turned at the other end of the huge missile-filled area, but don't go over there and talk to him yet. First, explore around to find ammo and other supplies.
of 9: When you're in the two lower side areas, watch out for blue laser tripwires. If your Repair skill is 90+, disable each of the tripwires' emitters. Otherwise, trip all the beams and try not to get hit by the rockets.
of 9: Find the two large Eyebot Control Consoles at the end of both lower side areas' walkways. You can't use them yet, but they may come in handy once combat has started (but only if your Science or Repair skill is 100).
of 9: When you talk to Ulysses, you can convince him not to fight you if your rep with certain factions and/or Speech skill are high enough.
of 9: If you have to fight him, the standard way to handle the combat is to talk to Ulysses, then either start attacking him or do the "Optional: Disable Ulysses' Eyebots" objective.
of 9: Note that he has a fairly high damage threshold as well as some damage resistance, so you'll want to hit him with armor-piercing rounds from your best automatic weapon. Also note that he'll use a stealth boy after losing a certain amount of health, and marked men will enter through the two locked side doors in the area's entry room.
of 9: You may find it better to snipe at Ulysses from a distance with a high-powered scoped weapon without approaching him and talking to him.
of 9: His death isn't the end of the combat. You'll have to finish off his eyebots and marked men, too. If you kill Ulysses quickly, there will be quite a few marked men left to kill.
of 9: Stay under cover and try to snipe down all the marked men without them getting wise to your location. If you can't, get out a powerful automatic weapon and use it to mow them all down. (But note that they're all rigged to blow up like plasma mines when killed, so keep your distance.)
