Fallout 2 Hints
Is there any way to free the prisoners without getting attacked?
1 of 8: In short, yes. (This is, of course, presuming you have a disguise that works -- otherwise, you're going to get attacked the whole way through the Enclave.)
3 of 8: The only difference is in whether you get caught in your efforts.
4 of 8: It's possible to avoid detection, even without using the sneak skill.
5 of 8: You need to make sure that no one sees you when you drop the explosive near the reactor mainframe.
6 of 8: I found that the scientists in the same room as the mainframe could easily be pushed around.
7 of 8: So I just pushed them all to the left of the mainframe (as it appears to you on the overhead view) and planted the explosive on the right side. All the scientists were facing to the left, and as long as they were a couple of hexes away, they never noticed me.
8 of 8: Just make sure to get out of the blast area before the explosive goes off.
