Close the Great Dam

  • 1 of 17: You get this task when you complete "Enter the Ruins to Reach the Dam."
  • 2 of 17: Leave town through the west exit to return to the Tien's Landing outdoor area, then find the ruins gate a bit to the north. (You'll have to fight a few soldiers if you haven't already cleared the area.)
  • 3 of 17: Now that you have Minister Sheng's key, you can open the gate and enter the ruins area.
  • 4 of 17: Move forward to get a short cut-scene and a fight with a few soldiers.
  • 5 of 17: Go through the open gate near the assassin supply chest and look to the left to find a talkative rat demon.
  • 6 of 17: After you fight him down to near-death status, he'll surrender and give you the "Gems in the Quarry" subquest.
  • 7 of 17: Search the ruins area for loot before you head through the next gate.
  • 8 of 17: The next area is the one with the rocket setup and a weak wall. See the above-mentioned subquest for info on that, or just skip it and head for the next gate to the south after looking for nearby loot.
  • 9 of 17: Going south from the third area gets you a cut-scene followed by a fight with a single soldier.
  • 10 of 17: After he's down, go to the bridge area to see the Lotus Assassins who ran off earlier raise the bridge before you can cross it.
  • 11 of 17: Cross the bridge, loot the two bamboo casks on its other side, then head down the path.
  • 12 of 17: After you have another brief woman-spirit vision, continue down the path to the entrance to the dam site region.
  • 13 of 17: Run forward and talk to the little girl, then prepare for a fight with a powerful guardian demon.
  • 14 of 17: When you're done with the demon, use the nearby spirit font and then look around for treasure.
  • 15 of 17: Near the spirit font is the start of a walkway that's guarded by two golems. You'll have to give them the password if you don't want to fight them.
  • 16 of 17: At the end of the walkway are the dam controls. You'll now have the choice of closing the dam or jamming it open.
  • 17 of 17: If you choose to close it, this quest will end right away, and you'll need to finish the "Trapped" subquest to get your reward.
