The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine Hints
Mehrunes' Razor
of 21: After this module is installed, you'll get an "Unearthing Mehrunes Razor" quest entry when you load a saved game or start a new game and reach the sewers area after the emperor is killed.
of 21: TIP: Even though a lot of the treasure you'll find while on this quest is leveled, you'll almost certainly want to do it while you're still very low-level. (See the Razor Info to find out why.) Besides, you can come back later on after you're level 20+ to find that almost all of the leveled treasure has respawned.
of 21: Your goal is to find the lost artifact weapon named Mehrunes Razor, and your first lead is a new dungeon called Sundercliff Watch.
of 21: It's marked on your world map, and is just a bit SE of the Abandoned Mine (which is location 20 on the Nibenay map in the main Oblivion UHS hint file).
of 21: After you make the long journey there, enter through the ruined fort's main door and start exploring around and fighting Drothmeri soldiers.
of 21: Go down the passage in the SW corner of the starting room to reach a wooden door that won't open without the proper password.
of 21: Fight and loot your way along until you reach the large SE chamber, where you'll find a door to the Sundercliff Village in the north part of the lower floor.
of 21: In the main village area, go around and finish off all the Drothmeri you can find, then start looking around for optional loot if you want to.
of 21: When you're through in the village, take either door that leads to the Sundercliff Commune area.
of 21: Finish off all the outdoor combats in the commune, then head down to the west end of the long trench that bisects the region.
of 21: You'll find a door that's blocked by an impenetrable magical barrier. You need to get through it before you can continue on the quest for Mehrunes Razor.
of 21: The Excavated Ruin past the barrier's door is a simple area. Just make your way west until you reach the door to Varsa Baalim.
of 21: As in other large areas, explore around and kill off all the "outdoor" hostiles before exploring the indoor areas. (Note that you can often let vampires and Drothmeri soldiers kill each other.)
of 21: The Nefarivigum is where you're trying to go, but its lower entrance is blocked by rubble.
of 21: Make your way along in the Nefarivigum, looting dead bodies, until you come to the room where Frathen Drothan is standing next to an inanimate person named Msirae Faythung.
of 21: Drothan is a fairly tough opponent. Not only can he heal himself with spells, but he has leveled magic items on him that give him various effects, including Reflect Damage and Reflect Spell.
