Spell Tips
1 of 4: One thing you should do early in the game is go around to various spell sellers and buy up their spells to increase your spell inventory. It's especially important to buy at least one spell for every spell type there is in the game (see pages 30 thru 35 of the manual) since you have to already know at least one spell that includes a certain spell type before you can create a new spell or enchanted item that uses that spell type.
2 of 4: If you have a hard time finding someone who sells a specific spell you want to learn, try all of the Mages Guilds, temples, and Telvanni towers. Between all those, just about every type of spell in the game should be available. (Remember that if you want to buy a more powerful version of a spell that you already have, you could go to a spellmaker and buy a custom-made version of that spell.) See the Spell Finding list if you want to locate a particular spell type in a hurry.
3 of 4: Many dungeons that you'll be exploring contain monsters (such as Greater Bonewalkers) that can drain your attributes with special attacks. Before you start any serious dungeon delving, make yourself some spells that you can cast to restore your attributes (see link below for more details).
