Nancy Drew 30: The Shattered Medallion Hints
How do I pan for gold?
1 of 7: Before you start, you need three things from the Field area. In the activity stand labeled "Stage 4 -- Gold" (which won't be open until this stage starts), you'll find a pickaxe and "Golden Dreams," a book about how to pan for gold.
2 of 7: And naturally, to pan for gold you need ... well, a pan. You can get one of those from the Auction House for a small fee.
3 of 7: When you have those three things, head off to Cromwell. Notice the red table (where you'll deposit any gold you find), the two mine shafts, the long wooden sluice with the faucet at the top, and the creek at the bottom of the sluice. You're ready to go pan!
4 of 7: Panning for gold has three steps: go into the mine and collect some dirt that you think might contain gold --
6 of 7: -- and then take that sand to the creek and do the actual panning part. This consists of dropping your sand in the pan, then dipping it in the creek five times until you see some gold and Nancy is happy.
7 of 7: Take the resulting gold flakes (which by the way were probably planted in the mine for the contest because that's a huge amount of gold to get from a played-out mine) and put them on the Team Tui scale on the red table. Ta dah! Medallion.
