The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

The Wayward Knight

  • 1 of 12: You won't be able to get this quest until after you complete the Main Quest called "Dagon Shrine."
  • 2 of 12: This quest is added to your journal when you approach the Oblivion gate that's just west of the Knights of the Thorn Lodge building (which is just west of Cheydinhal).
  • 3 of 12: Talk to one of the guards near the gate to learn where Amminus Gregori is, then talk to Gregori to learn that the count's son, Farwil, went through the gate with several men recently.
  • 4 of 12: The count is offering a reward for his son's return, so go through the gate and see if you can find the brat.
  • 5 of 12: Explore around the Oblivion world until you find Farwil Indarys and Bremman Senyan a ways SE of the Oblivion gate, near the entrance to the citadel.
  • 6 of 12: Talk to Farwil to get him and Bremman to follow you into the citadel.
  • 7 of 12: NOTE: You'll want to keep Farwil alive throughout this little escapade so you can get a good reward from the count after you close the Oblivion gate.
  • 8 of 12: The citadel is the usual sort, where you have to use side areas called Rending Halls and Corridors of Dark Salvation to get to the Sigillum Sanguis section (where the sigil stone is) at the top of the citadel.
  • 9 of 12: As usual, grabbing the sigil stone will immediately close the Oblivion gate, and you'll soon be teleported (along with Farwil and Bremman) to a spot just outside where the gate was.
  • 10 of 12: Talk to Farwil to be rewarded with an honorary membership in the Knights of the Thorn club, which includes a cool Knights of the Thorn Medallion.
  • 11 of 12: Then go see his father the count in the Cheydinhal Castle County Hall for your choice of a magic weapon.
  • 12 of 12: NOTE: If Farwil got killed, the only reward you can get is a bit of money from his father (more if you give him Farwil's signet ring).
