The Orange Box: Portal Hints

Chamber 14 Advanced

  • 1 of 6: The first difference you may notice is that the floor around the raised lift is metal, which prevents you from using the Chamber 14 with Least Portals shortcut method.
  • 2 of 6: When you go up the stairs to the left to get to the room with the storage cube, you'll find that the wall to the right of the cube's big pedestal is also metal-clad now.
  • 3 of 6: Once you have the cube, make your way over to the big red door-opening button and place the cube on it.
  • 4 of 6: When you go through the button-opened door and into the toxic hallway, you'll find that there are no platforms to cross the hallway with.
  • 5 of 6: That means you'll have to use portals to cross, so you therefore can't leave a portal open over the orb receptor device.
  • 6 of 6: After the lift is powered, ride it up to the exit elevator.
