Voyage Hints

How can Ardan call the exile aliens in from the fields?

  • 1 of 15: Scurvy explains that in a fair amount of detail, if you'll talk with him long enough, and ask all of the related questions.
  • 2 of 15: Ardan will need to call the aliens by reproducing the sounds that each of them makes.
  • 3 of 15: However, since the aliens are quite distant at the moment, he will need something that can create those sounds in an amplified manner.
  • 4 of 15: Have you checked out the pipe organ underneath the plateau area?
  • 5 of 15: Once you get the organ working, play with it to see what -- if anything -- happens.
  • 6 of 15: The keys on the organ represent (approximately) one octave on a standard organ.  There are ideograms on the various buttons, some of which are white, and some are colored.
  • 7 of 15: As it turns out, the ideograms are not helpful at all.
  • 8 of 15: What is more helpful are the colored buttons.
  • 9 of 15: Also, note the chart to the left of the organ.
  • 10 of 15: When you first see the chart, there are three pairs of colors at the top of the chart -- one at the head of each "path" of lights leading downward.
  • 11 of 15: Scurvy reminded you that each alien is associated with two colors -- the colors on his shoulders.
  • 12 of 15: At first, the task required of you can appear quite daunting -- if not downright boring and/or arduous.  And that will be all the more so, if you have any kind of hearing impairment, if you are "tone deaf", or if you have any other problem with sound-oriented puzzles.
  • 13 of 15: The good news is that there is an easier way to solve the puzzle -- although it's no shorter.
  • 14 of 15: Just for the record, you will get more points added to your point total by taking the more difficult of the two routes to solving this puzzle.  So you can decide whether you want to go for points, or for simplicity.
  • 15 of 15: In either case, after completing all three sequences (moving all three aliens into the center of the diagram), all three will have shown up here in the room behind you -- over by the scale.
