1 of 2: First of all, there are a LOT of followers in this game. More than you'll ever be able to have in your party, no matter how much Charisma you have. Most characters will probably have a maximum of 2-5 followers, depending on their Charisma. Of course, you can always drop the ones you have if you really want to make room for a new one. There are a couple of companions in the game that don't count against your follower limit, but not many.
