Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods Hints

Starting Tips

  • 1 of 7: Look around in the room you start the game in for stuff to take, then go all around town to find more loot. Don't neglect to get Silden's Teleporter Stone, since it can be used to teleport yourself back to Silden from anywhere.
  • 2 of 7: Teleporter stones are so useful that the next thing you should do is go around to all the rest of the towns and get their teleporter stones. You can either loot the towns during your stone-getting trip, or wait until afterwards -- the stones will let you return to any town quickly and easily whenever you want to.
  • 3 of 7: While traveling between towns, you'll have to go on foot, and you'll probably meet wild creatures along the way. Be sure to quicksave often, and try to run away from any combat you can't handle. (As a general rule, you can probably kill most solitary creatures, but would be overwhelmed by a pack.)
  • 4 of 7: After you get all the teleporter stones and loot all the towns, sell off the loot you don't want to traders. Note that Geldern has the most traders of any town, and that traders will sometimes have their gold supply renewed instantly if you exit conversation and then talk to them again right away.
  • 5 of 7: Next, start exploring around in the outdoor areas near towns. Look for plants you can take, chests to loot, and creatures to kill.
  • 6 of 7: If you encounter creatures too powerful or numerous to beat, lead them back to town so the guards and residents will help you fight them. Also, return to town and sip from water barrels frequently to restore your health for free. (And use any campfires you find to roast the meat you get from dead creatures for cheap healing outside of town.)
  • 7 of 7: Before you start on any missions, check the Special Free Equipment List for lots of great gear that you can get for free. You probably have a lot of it already if you thoroughly looted all of the towns, but some of the best stuff is in caves you may not have visited yet.
