The Orange Box: Half-Life 2: Episode Two Hints

Section 1: Hunted at the Radio Tower (ep2_outland_06a)

  • 1 of 10: After you exit the tunnel, drive on down the road until you come to another tunnel.
  • 2 of 10: Park near the buildings and get out, then look around for a transmitter.
  • 3 of 10: When you approach the transmitter, Alyx will say that it isn't getting any power.
  • 4 of 10: After you turn the power on, you'll have to figure out how to get out of the power room.
  • 5 of 10: After you reenter the locked room, two hunters will show up and attack, followed by a third one soon after, and then two more outside.
  • 6 of 10: If the general tips aren't enough for you, I list two specific strategies below. The first is for players who are willing to restore a save from back before they first dropped into the locked room, and the second is for players who aren't.
  • 7 of 10: After all five hunters are dead, go back to the building with the transmitter table.
  • 8 of 10: Walk up to it to get Alyx to send her message and open the nearby gate.
  • 9 of 10: Look around for any last-minute supplies, then get in the car and drive through the newly opened gate.
  • 10 of 10: Drive on down the dirt path as it goes between some large rocks and winds around, and you'll eventually come to the drop-down spot where Section 2: Combine Advisor and Chopper loads.
