Half-Life 2 Hints

Section 7: Two More Striders and a Car Bomb (d3_c17_13)

  • 1 of 15: At the end of the corridor, bash the boards off the wall hole and listen to the guy who describes the current situation.
  • 2 of 15: Just ahead is a wrecky street area with a couple of striders patrolling it that you'll have to get past.
  • 3 of 15: Explore around the second underground parking area to discover that some soldiers are trying to blow you up with a car bomb, of all things!
  • 4 of 15: After the soldiers are down, head to the back of the parking area to find another supply crate and a rubble "ramp" that leads up to ground level in a new outdoor area.
  • 5 of 15: Unfortunately, this new area is full of soldiers, and those same two striders from earlier are patrolling around it.
  • 6 of 15: Your immediate goal is to get from the parking area to a nearby safe room. ("Safe" meaning it provides really good cover.)
  • 7 of 15: Wait in the safe room for some resistance members to run in and join you. Also, you may hear a warp cannon blast or two from the striders outside.
  • 8 of 15: Now you need to get through some more wrecked building areas and take cover in another small safe room with supplies.
  • 9 of 15: After that, it's a fairly short trip to the third and final safe room.
  • 10 of 15: From the third safe room, it's just a short run up some nearby stairs to get to the rooftop area with the infinite rocket crate. Now you can finally rocket those two lousy striders!
  • 11 of 15: After both striders are down, shoot all the soldiers you can see in nearby buildings and then look around for supplies.
  • 12 of 15: Now look around for a way to move on to a new area.
  • 13 of 15: Once on the street, start moving toward the huge Combine gate that leads to the Citadel to get Barney and Dog to show up.
  • 14 of 15: When Dog lifts up part of the Citadel's gate, revealing a small hole, walk forward and drop into it.
  • 15 of 15: Drop down a second hole and start walking down the tunnel to enter Chapter 13: Our Benefactors.
