Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark Hints
Why is a town of winged elves stuck in the Underdark? Can I help them?
of 9: Try talking to them about it.
of 9: Skaa and Nairow, the two winged elves who greet you when you first enter the town square, keep referring you to Shaori, their queen.
of 9: Take the east branch out of town and head south to find the queen's cave. (Be ready to fight some exiting drow when you first try to enter.)
of 9: Shaori tells you of a magic mirror that she used to spy on enemies, and that eventually caused her little mountaintop community to plunge into the Underdark.
of 9: She says the mirror was broken during the process, and that the frame is probably still in the castle's throne room. That's the place to start looking.
of 9: The castle is infested with driders, but thankfully the throne room is clear of them. The only occupant is an odd little winged elf called the Fool, who now is an all-knowing genius thanks to the whole mirror thing.
of 9: He'll explain to you how the queen ticked off Halaster (of Undermountain fame) with her scrying ways, so he caused the entire mountaintop community to be pulled through the mirror in a great big "opposite day" routine where everything and everyone became the opposite of what they were.
of 9: The Fool will tell you that there are five pieces to the broken mirror scattered about the Shaori's Fell region. The queen had one (but gave it to that drow woman Sabal), the merchant in the town square has one, and there's one piece each in the temple, library, and wizard's tower. See the following questions to learn more about retrieving the pieces.
of 9: When you go to turn in the four shards that you can get, you'll have to fight Sabal and her forces in the throne room for possession of the fifth shard.
