Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide Hints

The Dragon's Tooth

  • 1 of 11: NOTE: You can go for this item at any time, but it's best to first do "The Tower Statue" main quest up to the point where you get the special flask of powder from Tymofarrar. It'll make the battle with the holder of the dragon's tooth a lot easier.
  • 2 of 11: To start on this subquest, find the exit to the High Forest that's along the southern border of the Hilltop Foothills region.
  • 3 of 11: The forest has several caves and one hermit's home you can visit. All of these are optional except for the gnoll cave up in the NE corner, which is the only way to get to J'Nah.
  • 4 of 11: Be careful when you first enter the gnoll cave -- its southern half is full of small gnoll groups that have alarm gongs to ring for reinforcements.
  • 5 of 11: After you're past that little obstacle, find the gnoll chieftain and convince him to get you through the locked door that leads to the exit to the underground ruins.
  • 6 of 11: Once in the ruins, you'll be right next to the big locked doors that lead to J'Nah's hideout.
  • 7 of 11: When you enter J'Nah's room in the ancient hall, she'll be talking to her mysterious mistress. When you're seen, the communication will end, but J'Nah won't turn hostile right away.
  • 8 of 11: When you talk to her, you can try and make a deal with her, but the best thing to do if you've gotten the flask of powder from Tymofarrar is to kill her.
  • 9 of 11: After it's all done, get J'Nah's cool Staff of Power from near her body, then raid her remains for Boots of Hardiness +1, an Amulet of Will +1, the dragon's tooth artifact, and the Phylactery of Ice (very important).
  • 10 of 11: When you're through looting the place, you can use the wisp-like Azith creature in the north room to teleport you back to the High Forest. (Azith requires magic to be cast or a magic potion handed over if you can't successfully persuade it to teleport you in exchange for something later.)
  • 11 of 11: NOTE: You may want to save the dragon's tooth for the Interlude portion of the game, since Deekin can make it into something then that will sell for far more than the tooth itself would in this chapter.
