The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

Bruma Gate

  • 1 of 10: You get this quest from Martin right after you turn over a Daedric artifact, but you don't have to do it right away. You may be able to do "Blood of the Divines" and "Miscarcand" first.
  • 2 of 10: Find Jauffre and talk to him about the gate to learn that it's your job to show the Bruma guards how to close Oblivion gates so they can handle any others that pop up after you close the current one.
  • 3 of 10: Fast-travel to Bruma's east gate, then exit the city to find Captain Burd and his men standing nearby.
  • 4 of 10: Tell Burd when you're ready to go, then follow them through the Oblivion gate after Burd gives them a rousing little speech.
  • 5 of 10: Once you're in Oblivion, you need to make your way east and then north along the path.
  • 6 of 10: If you head all the way to the NW corner of the area, you'll find a healing blood fountain and a couple of magicka-restoring essence devices.
  • 7 of 10: The citadel you need to get to is a ways south and a bit east of those devices.
  • 8 of 10: The citadel is the usual sort, where you have to use side areas called Rending Halls and Corridors of Dark Salvation to get to the Sigillum Sanguis section (where the sigil stone is) at the top of the citadel.
  • 9 of 10: As usual, grabbing the sigil stone will immediately close the Oblivion gate, and you'll soon be teleported (along with Burd) to a spot next to the gate's remains.
  • 10 of 10: After talking to Burd one last time, head back to the Cloud Ruler Temple and report your success to Jauffre.
