Destination: Treasure Island Hints
How can I help Long John and Pepita solve the ancient Mayan puzzle room?
of 11: Long John translates the old Mayan enigma that serves as the puzzle room's clue.
of 11: The enigma seems to have something to do with compass directions and days.
of 11: Notice the snake-head carving on the table that you can point at and click on. It clearly has something to do with the enigma's three questions.
of 11: Turn around and look behind you to find a whole 'nother puzzle-related gimmick.
of 11: It has two large, circular holes on its upper part, and a grime-encrusted inscription on its lower part.
of 11: After the compass is in place, it'll point to the north.
of 11: You can now see what color, what symbol, and what number are associated with each of the four directions. (Remember that south is the opposite of north, east is 90 degrees clockwise from north, etc.)
of 11: It's now possible to figure out answers to each of the enigma's three questions.
of 11: When all three answers are correctly entered, the table will change itself into a lunar-type puzzle. (TIP: Save your game before you start messing with the puzzle. That way, you'll have that save handy later if you decide you need to use my step-by-step solution, which requires you to be at the starting configuration.)
