Voyage Hints
What's with all of these plants? How do I get by them?
of 16: Every time Ardan attempts to interact with any of the colorful lunar plants, he is confronted by what appears to be an aggressive reaction, and a sound that would almost seem to be the plant talking to him.
of 16: Before going any further, the best thing for Ardan to do is to learn as much as he can about the various lunar plants.
of 16: Each of them has a unique color, unique fruit (of the same color as the plant), a temperament unique to that group of plants, and several other identifying characteristics.
of 16: The first level of becoming familiar with the plants is to be able to recognize them clearly. Move Ardan around (both on the plateau, as well as the small area just outside of the crashed projectile), and take note of the different plants, their color, and -- at the very least -- some defining details about the plants.
of 16: No matter where he goes, Ardan cannot seem to get by any of the plants.
of 16: But at least he can "visit" all of the spots where there are plants. You should make careful notes as you go along -- such as "The yellow plants look like large balloons", or "The blue plants appear like giant snapdragons". These will come in handy later.
of 16: To get by them, you will need some additional information -- information that Ardan cannot gather on his own.
of 16: Have you checked out the ledge area across from the plateau, almost on the far side from the capsule?
of 16: One of the five "landing points" that surround the plateau area has not one, but two, large stone columns that mark it -- almost as the pillars that surround a doorway.
of 16: The ledge area is directly across from this "landing point".
of 16: You will need to find all of the appropriate information that can be found on the various ledges, before you will understand how to pass the plants blocking the various paths.
of 16: After visiting the ledges, you should now understand that there is a "circle of power" that operates between the five groups of plants.
of 16: Each plant can be subdued by one other plant; and each plant can subdue one other plant.
of 16: Using that knowledge, perhaps Ardan can get by the plants that are blocking his various paths by using the other plants that can subdue the "blockers".
of 16: To summarize the information in the previous question, you'll need to find and plant a fruit to grow a mini-plant. Which color plant you need for any given situation can be found by looking at the "complete hierarchy" below.
of 16: Once you have defined the "plant pecking order", you can overcome any plant in your way by carrying your own little "copy" of the plant that "subdues" the one in your way.
