1 of 6: Before you can get this objective, you'll have to join the Stormcloaks and do the Civil War Quests up through the "Liberation of Skyrim" quest's second objective. After it's completed, you can ask Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak if there's anything else he needs. Say it would be an honor, and you'll finally get this objective.
2 of 6: NOTE: If you'd rather join the Imperial Legion and fight for them in the civil war, you'll have to complete the entire questline and then talk to Windhelm's new Jarl to get this objective.
3 of 6: One way to get credit for this objective is to do other miscellaneous objectives that take place in and around Windhelm.
