Fallout: New Vegas Game Add-Ons (DLC) Hints

Hints and Tips for the Sink Area

  • 1 of 7: The first two things to note about the Sink area are that there are many containers for you to store items in, and there's a bed you can use to get the Well Rested XP bonus.
  • 2 of 7: There's also one of each of the three types of crafting station. The workbench and reloading bench are in the central room, and a hot plate (which acts like a campfire) is next to the fridge in the west-side room.
  • 3 of 7: The Sink Balcony is a completely safe area that counts as being outdoors, which means you can fast-travel to and from it. Also, you can get yourself teleported to it by getting too close to the Big Empty's perimeter fence. Stay out of bounds for a few seconds, and the teleportation will happen.
  • 4 of 7: Besides all that, the Sink provides ten unique personality-driven gadgets that don't do anything at first, but that can be reactived and upgraded with special holotapes.
  • 5 of 7: It's a good idea to go looking for all of the gadgets' basic personality holotapes as soon as you finish the "Welcome to the Big Empty" main quest. Either do the "All My Friends Have Off Switches" optional quest, or check the list below for brief summaries of each holotape's location.
  • 6 of 7: After you get a gadget's personality holotape, start looking for the upgrade holotape(s) that give it extra functionality. If you've finished the above-mentioned optional quest, you can do the "Influencing People" optional quest to get all of the upgrades. Or you can check the list below to find whatever upgrades you want without doing any quests.
  • 7 of 7: Below are tips and notes on what each of the ten gadgets in the Sink can do once they're reactivated and upgraded.
